Monitor Bandwidth Utilization

Track your bandwidth consumption to determine if it meets or exceeds your requirements.

Identify Bandwidth Hogs

With WhatsUp Gold, you can identify which applications and users are consuming the most bandwidth. Collect, monitor, and analyze Cisco Netflow, NSEL. sFlow, J-Flow and IPFIX flow data to see bandwidth use by application, protocol IP and groups.

Visualize Traffic Patterns

Analyze traffic patterns over months, days or minutes by drilling into the individual network nodes. With that historical data you can track down the root cause of issues.

Setup Threshold-based Alerts

Receive threshold-based alerts to help you address network bandwidtch problems before they impact your users, applications and business. Track items like number of failed connections or the number of conversation partners and even individual user bandwidth thresholds.

Monitoring Bandwidth Utilization Saves Time and Money

Monthly ISP bandwidth charges are expensive. WhatsUp Gold lets you drill down to identify the sources and destinations of your internet traffic, the applications consuming internet bandwidth and the users of those applications. You can manage and justify ISP costs and ensure that your business-critical applications are getting the bandwidth they need.

Are your CBQoS policies effective?

Don’t allow a single user to stream video and hog all the bandwidth. Help ensure that the policies you have in place are giving business-critical traffic the highest priority with Class-Based Quality of Service reports that provide information about the effectiveness of those policies. Additionally, NBAR (Network Based Application Recognition) reports on the network traffic resulting from the top applications according to Cisco’s NBAR classification engine.

effective CBQoS policies

Be aware of unauthorized network traffic and how it impacts other systems and applications on your network.

Multi-vendor/protocol support ensures no matter what you are running in your network, there is a solution for you.

Learn more about bandwidth.

What is bandwidth?

Bandwidth is the capacity of a wired or wireless network communications link to transmit the maximum amount of data from one point to another. Synonymous with capacity, bandwidth describes the data transfer rate. Bandwidth is not a measure of network speed, a common misconception.

What is CBQoS?

Class Based Quality of Service (CBQoS) is a feature set created by Cisco that is available in IOS 12.4(4)T and higher. CBQoS provides information about the Quality of Service (QoS) policies applied and the Class Based (CB) traffic patterns within an enterprise’s network.

What is NBAR?

Developed by Cisco, Network Based Application Recognition (NBAR) is a mechanism that classifies and regulates bandwidth for network applications to ensure that available resources are utilized as efficiently as possible.
