WhatsUp Gold 2018 SP1 Includes Full End-to-end Support for TLS 1.2 for Compliance with PCI 3.1, Among Customer Requested Additions
BURLINGTON, Mass. – May 22, 2018 – Ipswitch®, producer of award-winning and easy-to-use secure file transfer and network management software, released WhatsUp® Gold 2018 Service Pack 1 with several enhancements. For customers concerned with PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance, the new release includes full end-to-end support for Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2, a requirement mandated by PCI 3.1, effective June 30, 2018.
WhatsUp Gold 2018 SP1 enhancements include map search improvements which allow the users to filter using any or all entries, the ability to post to IFTTT as an action, map customization by creating links between annotations and user-defined expiration date and time when putting devices in maintenance mode.
“We love receiving feedback and use direct customer input to continue to make improvements to our customers’ experience,” said Bill Doll, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Ipswitch. “WhatsUp Gold 2018 SP1 includes several customer-driven enhancements that provide improved flexibility and visibility into the largest networks.”
Also included are new BGP Peer Status active monitor, new %device.role percent variable, support for Synology NAS storage devices and QUIC protocol for Network Traffic Analyzer. WhatsUp Gold 2018 SP1 added to and enhanced existing configuration and display options for several dashboard reports and updated migration utilities to bring annotations as nodes from v16.x to the current version.
June 30, 2018 is the deadline for disabling SSL/early TLS and implementing a more secure encryption protocol – TLS 1.1 or higher with TLS v1.2 strongly encouraged in order to meet the PCI DSS for safeguarding payment data. WhatsUp Gold 2018 customers can be assured the product is in full compliance with the PCI TLS restrictions.
