Lexington, MA -- July 28, 2010 -- Ipswitch, Inc.’s Network Management Division, the developer of the WhatsUp Gold and WhatsUp Event Log Management suite of innovative IT management software, today announced it has achieved record sales results in its government division for the first half of 2010. In the first six months of 2010, the company has already exceeded its entire 2009 revenue for North American government business.
Ipswitch credits its success to a number of reasons, starting with its decision to invest in a government sales division and naming Tom D’Errico as Director of Government Sales. D’Errico implemented a go-to-market strategy by focusing communications to the government sector around Ipswitch’s unique strengths: reducing network downtime; managing network configurations; ensuring compliance through log management; and improving overall staff efficiency with an affordable licensing model.
“Through targeted efforts, Ipswitch has been able to achieve key approvals for product certifications in various departments of the U.S. DoD, including WhatsUp Gold Network Management and WhatsUp Event Log Management, solutions that have both received a Certificate of Networthiness (CoN) from the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command,” said D’Errico. “WhatsUp Gold 14 Premium Edition was also approved and listed on the U.S. Department of the Navy’s Application and Database Management System (DADMS) list.”
Ipswitch has closed sales across all levels of domestic and Canadian government, including both the U.S. and Canadian defense departments, every U.S. military branch, many U.S. federal agencies including the Departments of Justice and Veterans Affairs, the Federal Reserve, Department of State, the Executive Office of the President of the United States, and a host of state and local governments, including the States of Texas and Florida and the City of New York.
“I am extremely pleased and grateful that customers in the U.S. and Canadian government, from network engineers working with U.S. forces stationed in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan, to cities and towns across North America, are seeing the value and benefits of our IT management solutions,” said Ennio Carboni, president, Ipswitch, Inc.’s Network Management Division. “Unlike our competitors, we are showing no signs of a decrease in government purchasing, as evidenced by our record-breaking first half of 2010 and our growing funnel of government proposals and opportunities,” Carboni said.
