Ipswitch’s Joan Groleau Recognized as One of CRN’s 2016 Women of the Channel

Award Honors Her Successful Realignment of the Company’s Partner Program to Help IT Teams Everywhere Better Manage Increasing Network Complexity

Lexington, Mass, May 17, 2016Ipswitch, the leader in easy to try, buy and use IT management software, today announced that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named Joan Groleau, Ipswitch Director, North America Channel Sales, to its prestigious 2016 Women of the Channel list.

Joan first joined Ipswitch in May 2015 and has overseen the realignment of the company’s North American channel team so that all communications, sales, demand generation and acquisitions with key partners are aligned with Ipswitch’s mission to help small business and enterprise IT teams successfully navigate an increasingly complex IT environment.

In just one year, Joan aligned Ipswitch’s North America partner program with the company’s EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) and ROW (Rest of World) initiatives to create a global Partner Synergy Program that addresses each individual partner request, while customizing their needs from a cultural or regional standpoint. Joan also more aptly defined metrics to increase the predictability of the North American channel, and drove new business growth – Ipswitch North America Channel had double-digit growth in Q1 2016 compared to Q1 2015, with Joan’s team already reaching 50 percent of its 2016 partner acquisition growth targets and goals.

To keep momentum growing, Joan has already put initiatives in place to further accelerate channel sales and expand Ipswitch’s channel network. Those programs include increasing deal registration for new customers across all products increasing the channel ecosystem with VARs and systems integrators to expand Ipswitch’s reach; and increasing the company’s overall channel contribution.

“It is truly an honor to be recognized among so many successful and influential women responsible for great change within their organizations’ channel networks,” said Groleau. “I have much admiration for both my colleagues and peers, whose dedicated work ethic and positive attitudes inspire me to reach beyond my limits every day and achieve greater goals for Ipswitch, our partners and our customers.”
CRN editors select the Women of the Channel honorees on the basis of their professional accomplishments, demonstrated expertise and ongoing dedication to the IT channel. The women executives who comprise this annual list span the IT channel, representing vendors, distributors, solution providers and other organizations that figure prominently in the channel ecosystem. Each is recognized for her outstanding leadership, vision and unique role in driving channel growth and innovation.
“These executives have made a lasting mark on our industry—growing and elevating partner programs, leading transitions to new business models and introducing cutting-edge go-to-market strategies, among other remarkable achievements,” said Robert Faletra, CEO, The Channel Company. “We congratulate all the 2016 Women of the Channel and celebrate their singular contributions to the advancement of the channel ecosystem.”
The 2016 Women of the Channel list will be featured in the June issue of CRN Magazine and online at
