Lexington, MA – July 27, 2010 – Ipswitch, Inc., a leader in IT software, has earned a spot in Massachusetts’ top five “Best Places to Work” as surveyed by the Boston Business Journal (BBJ).

To be considered for the award and recognized as one of BBJ's "Best Places to Work", 85% of a company’s employees must complete the BBJ survey. Ipswitch won in the midsized company category and is joined by Google, Hubspot, Intuit, and LOGMEIN. The BBJ list highlights companies that emphasize their employees' professional growth and career development in a work environment that promotes job satisfaction.

Ipswitch was founded in 1991 by Roger Greene on a simple premise: to harness the power of software and the Internet to make it easier for businesses and individuals to communicate, collaborate and share information. Throughout 19 profitable years, Ipswitch has grown both organically and through acquisition. Its solutions are used by millions of people and companies around the globe. Last year, Ipswitch sold products in 150 countries. Ipswitch has 250 employees, a pristine balance sheet and no outside investors.

Employee development is a key focus for Ipswitch. An example is a division president who joined Ipswitch as a product manager; he then spent a year in sales before his promotion to president. Philanthropy and community involvement are part of Ipswitch’s culture and values. We give to community programs through our iCare community program. iCare has donated over $1.5 million to non-profit organizations. Employees participate in our community outreach as well, with recent participation ranging from the Augusta Plane Pull to benefit the Ronald McDonald House to building a house for the homeless for Habitat for Humanity.

“Employees who enjoy their jobs, are proud to be working here, and feel that we encourage and value them, well, that feels good in 2010's business environment,” said Roger Greene, CEO of Ipswitch. “I’m very proud of our culture and the work our team accomplishes here at Ipswitch.”
