Summary:

  • Improves performance of Web Messaging
  • Fixes a buffer overrun in Web Messaging when reading HTML messages with tag text longer than 1024 bytes
  • Modifies the IMail Administrator to speed up expansion of domain list when running on Windows 2003
  • Corrects a SEARCH problem in IMAP4D32 that failed to retrieve some TEXT and BODY criteria
  • Adds the ability to VRFY with RCPT TO for systems that don't support VRFY and support for messages using a Delivery Status Notification (DSN)
  • Includes prior 8.0x updates

You must be running IMail Server version 8.0x to install this patch

How to update to version 8.04:

  1. Print this page as a reference during the installation process.
  2. Download the file imail804.exe by clicking on the link under the Download section above and save the file to your hard drive. We recommend saving the file to your Desktop as it will be easier to locate.
  3. Locate the imail804.exe file and double-click it to start the installation process.
  4. Follow the prompts on your screen.
  5. This hotfix does not include updates to the Web Messaging Templates. However, version 8.03 did require updates to the Web Messaging Templates. If you are upgrading from 8.02 or earlier you should download the latest templates by visiting our template gallery for a list of current templates:
