- Premium Antispam filtering (optional in the ICS Suite only) provides additional automated spam protection to the Standard Antispam filtering included in IMail.
- Enhanced collaboration through Ipswitch WorkgroupShare includes:
- additional user permissions control
- administrator settings for user controlled permissions
- Active Directory sync for groups
- Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for Post Office Protocol (POP) has been added by enabling SSL over the existing POP3 port. The POP server also supports SSL and Transport Layer Security (TLS) through the STARTTLS extension and a dedicated port. This feature lets the POP server operate with the greatest number of clients and provides network traffic encryption and decryption.
- SSL for Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) has been added by enabling SSL over the existing IMAP port. The IMAP server also supports SSL and TLS through the STARTTLS extension and a dedicated port. This feature lets the IMAP server operate with the greatest number of clients and provides network traffic encryption and decryption.
- SSL for Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) has been added by enabling TLS over the existing SMTP port via the STARTTLS command. The SMTP server also supports SSL on a dedicated port. This feature lets the SMTP server operate with the greatest number of clients and provides network traffic encryption and decryption.
- Sender Policy Framework (SPF) enables increased capability for administrators to stop incoming email from forged email addresses.
- Attachment Blocking lets administrators set options to block email attachments.
- Broken MIME header filtering identifies Broken MIME header characteristics in SPAM email and lets administrators set actions to take on messages with broken MIME headers.
- HTML Content filtering includes a new feature to scan HTML and/or plain text for hyperlinks embedded in email messages.
- IMail checks for deceptive URLs by decoding domain components in HTML messages, then the URL is checked against the URL Domain Black List. If the domain component of the URL is found in the URL Domain Black List, the email is treated as SPAM.
User Interface
- Added Antispam Premium Filter tab for the selected host's Antispam property sheet. This tab is only visible when the Antispam Premium filter is installed. This property page affects actions that are taken when email is determined to be spam.
- Added SPF tab for the selected host's Antispam property sheet. This property page lets administrators enable SPF processing and select SPF processing options.
- The Trusted Addresses tab has been moved from the Antispam folder and placed under the White List folder. This structure lets administrators apply the trusted address properties to Antispam and Attachment Blocking settings.
- Added Attachment Blocking folder for the selected host's attachment blocking options.
- The Launch SSL Configuration Utility shortcut has been added to the Tools menu. Previously this utility was only available from the Start > IMail > Launch SSL Configuration Utility menu.
- The Syslog folder located under the Services folder has been renamed Log Server.
