Release notes for Ipswitch Collaboration Suite 2006.03
Ipswitch, Inc.

Copyright 2006
New in ICS 2006.03
Known Update Issues
. Web Mail: The UID format has changed in this release; all UIDs will be rebuilt. There is a minimal risk that IMAP users who have deleted messages but not purged could see these messages reappear. POP3 users who leave their messages on the server could see these "re-Popped" after upgrade. This is equivalent to the administrator manually deleting the .UID file for a user's mailbox(s).
. Checking the Registry: Regcheck.exe is a new utility that runs automatically during a repair or upgrade, and can also be run from the command line and troubleshoots registry conflicts. For detailed information, see Checking the Registry, below.
. Web Mail: Added ability for users on IP-less Virtual Domains to login using only their userid without the domain portion. Important: The host name portion of the URL in the user's web browser is used to append to the end of the user's ID. This host name MUST exist either as the Official Host Name or as a host alias for this to work. If this is not the case, the user will need to continue to use the Official Host Name of the domain they want to login to, for example: user@mail.domain.com.
. The install will overwrite any customizations you may have made to the templates. If you wish to keep these files, please back them up prior to installing this update.

Description
Welcome to Ipswitch Collaboration Suite. ICS provides email and real-time collaboration capabilities, calendar and contact list sharing, and protection from spam and viruses. Ipswitch Collaboration Suite
is
packaged in two editions:
• ICS Premium includes Ipswitch IMail Server, Web Messaging, Instant Messaging, Premium AntiVirus, Premium Antispam, and WorkgroupShare.
• ICS Standard includes Ipswitch IMail Server, Web Messaging, Instant Messaging, Standard Antispam, and WorkgroupShare.

• IMail Server
• IMail AntiVirus Premium
• Ipswitch Instant Messaging
• WorkgroupShare
ICS 2006 Features
• Web Messaging (Web mail client) lets you send and receive mail using a web browser. You can log on to the Web Messaging from a browser on any computer with a supported browser and manage email without installing email client software. IMail Web Messaging uses the Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP4) to manage mail on the server. When a user creates a mailbox in the Web client, the mailbox is created on the mail server and mail folders and messages reside on the server.
• IMail Web Administration (server) provides local or remote access to IMail Server administration features via a Web browser. You can administer all email functions, including users, groups, services, shared
calendars and contacts, and anti-spam and antivirus settings.
- If ICS WorkgroupShare is implemented in current ICS version, Microsoft® Outlook contacts automatically transfer and sync with IMail Web Messaging.
• Ipswitch Instant Messaging (server)
provides local or remote access to Ipswitch Instant Messaging administration features via a Web browser. You can administer all instant messaging functions, including users, public contact
lists, stored conversations, and server access. As a new feature, Ipswitch Instant Messaging integrates with Microsoft® Office products by using Smart Tags. IIM Smart tags are person's names or email addresses that are associated with an IIM contact. Microsoft Office automatically recognizes smart tags in any Office document.
IMail Web Messaging, Web Administration, and Instant Messaging supports:
- Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.5 or later
- Mozilla 1.7 or later
- Firefox 1.0.6 for Microsoft Windows
- Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0 and later
- Microsoft® .NET Framework 1.1
