What's new in version 3.0

VT320 version 3.0 significantly increases the level of security for terminal sessions.

SSH support (Secure Shell 1 and 2) has been added to this release. SSH is a security protocol that resides on top of TCP/IP connections. SSH authenticates and encrypts your connection to UNIX, Linux and OpenVMS systems. With standard telnet connections all data to and from your PC travels in clear text (even usernames and passwords). SSH creates a secure tunnel over which your terminal and FTP sessions can travel without fear of eavesdropping.

Increased Security using SSH Support

  • VT320 sessions are now secure with our new support for the OpenSSH libraries.

New TrueType Display Font

  • More scalable on larger monitors
  • Used for printing, ensuring greater consistency in both display and printed reports.
  • Customized for terminal emulation requirements, the new font displays visually appealing line drawing characters for the accurate representation of host application boxes, windows and outlines.

New Editor for modifying Startup.ini

  • Makes the process of editing the main VT320 initialization file simpler and easier to understand.
  • The associated Help file explains what the various settings do and eliminates the trial and error of manually editing the file in Notepad.

Controller Mode Printing using Windows Print Drivers

  • This feature, along with the capability to define the number of lines and rows in a print job, provides better control for reports printed from the host to locally attached or networked printers.
  • Now possible to print to Postscript printers

General Enhancements

  • Various emulation, display, file transfer and scripting issues were addressed, resulting in a more robust, accurate, and stable product.
