Using the VT320 Terminal Emulator

Toolbars
Up to six emulation toolbar groups may be displayed on the screen in any desired combination or sequence. Either floating or docked behavior may be selected for each toolbar and displayed horizontally, vertically, or turned off.
The standard toolbar contains icons for...
  • Selecting, copying, pasting, and sending text
  • Sending and receiving files
  • Printing the screen
  • Toggling between 80- and 132-column modes
  • Maximizing workspace
  • Toggling the command message history
  • Accessing the Help index
  • Switching to another session
  • Exiting to Windows.

Keyboard Mapping

DEC LK250, DEC LK450, standard IBM US, and international keyboards are supported. Custom keyboard configurations are easily created with graphical Key Mapping. Keys can be defined to send a string to the host, execute a command file, relocate a VT320 function key, and perform other functions.

Mouse Mapping
The mouse interface allows the programming of mouse button combinations to application-specific strings. Using this feature, host applications can be streamlined by creating a mouse-oriented interface that eliminates awkward keyboard functions.
Mouse buttons can be configured to initiate emulator functions or to send a string, a command, a mouse position report, or a command file. Mouse clicks are only redefined while the mouse cursor is in the emulation window.

File Transfer Setup
The VT320 Terminal Emulator includes ASCII, Kermit, XMODEM, YMODEM, and ZMODEM file transfer capability. Kermit supports long packets for faster transfers. Single files, multiple files, and wildcard transfers may be selected, and all file transfers may be accomplished in the background. File transfers also can be automated through command files or by host command sequences.
