Finding Web Space

To upload a picture for use with eBay you need to have some storage space on the Internet available to you. eBay is not a repository for these files (you don't actually "upload" your image files to eBay).

Many Internet Service Providers (ISP)s include free Web space as part of their offering. Check with your ISP and see if space is available to you and how to access it to house your picture file. If your ISP does not offer you Web space, check out FTPplanet.com's listing and ratings of Free Web Hosting Sites.

Since many free Web Hosts do not allow direct linking to images (which is how your image will appear in your listing), you might want to look at a low-cost Web Host. We recommend FtpKey.com, who offers Auction Image Hosting packages starting at $6.95 per month. FTPplanet.com also offers listings and ratings of Paid Web Hosting Sites.

Once you have secured web space, take note of the address (URL). Upload your electronic image file (electronically captured auction item photo) from your computer to their server using WS_FTP.
