Position Title: Technical Support Specialist - Network Management

Department: Research and Development

Location: Atlanta, GA

Primary Objectives:  Provide both reactive and proactive service and support for users of state-of-the-art Internet applications via e-mail and phone.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Develop good understanding of assigned products and related processes.
  • Provide technical and non-technical support to customers (or to Ipswitch employees, as assigned) by telephone and email by:
    • Assisting in the installation and use of products, and troubleshooting problems;
    • Recording customer issues and steps taken to address them
    • Identifying problems or conditions outside of a product that adversely affect its operation;
    • Identifying and reporting potential product defects, and recommending workarounds, patches, and/or upgrades to address those issues;
    • Providing a path into Ipswitch R&D for customers’ product suggestions;
    • Providing customers with information about Ipswitch processes and resources.

Qualifications

  • Six months of front line, external end-user support experience
  • Excellent language skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent customer handling skills
  • Experience in use, configuration, and troubleshooting of at least several of the following Internet protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, WMI, LDAP, DNS, SNMP, and HTTP. 
    • Desirable: FTP, SMTP, and SSL experience.
  • Experience in Windows networking and administration
  • Ability to solve problems both independently and cooperatively
  • Highly desirable: training and presentation experience
