Lund, Legends and Kachina Cadillac Hummer Saab Choose Ipswitch ICS to Manage Communication among Dispersed Dealerships

Multiple-Location Dealership Chooses Ipswitch Collaboration Suite over Microsoft Exchange for its Ease of Use, Reliability and Low Maintenance Requirements

Lexington, Massachusetts - December 11, 2006 – Ipswitch, Inc., a leading developer of network monitoring, messaging and file transfer solutions, today announced that Lund, Legends and Kachina Cadillac Hummer Saab of Arizona has chosen Ipswitch Collaboration Suite (ICS) as its email, instant messaging and calendaring solution for all seven of its current locations and for three new locations currently under design.  The dealership chose ICS over Microsoft Exchange after evaluating the products based on their cost, value, usability, reliability and maintenance requirements.

Matt McDermott, CIO of Lund, Legends and Kachina wanted to go beyond simple cost comparisons to find the solution that provided the best fit for his business.  “I selected ICS over Microsoft Exchange only after a head-to-head comparison of several elements, including product features, total cost of ownership and maintenance requirements,” said McDermott.  “As a small business, we are always concerned with costs, and finding a solution with low upfront capital expenditure and low ongoing operations costs was essential.”

Lund, Legends and Kachina Cadillac will have almost 300 individual users of ICS, located primarily in its accounting and sales departments.  McDermott wanted integrated spam blocking, calendaring and instant messaging capabilities in addition to email service. The dealership’s will eventually replace MSN messenger with ICS’s instant messaging, which is a part of ICS, in order to provide users with more advanced capabilities and also to gain more control over how instant messaging is used in the workplace.  The Ipswitch Instant Messaging stores copies of all conversations, which is helpful in serving customers, and provides total security against emerging instant messaging threats, such as spim (instant messaging spam) and viruses.

“One major concern for us was our employees’ use of IM as a communication tool.  With Ipswitch’s ICS IM tool, we need not worry that important messages may be unrecoverable, thereby providing us another measure of control over how we communicate with customers and partners,” said McDermott.

“Lund, Legends and Kachina Cadillac Hummer Saab is another example of how Ipswitch ICS is engineered to deliver optimal price and performance,” said Ipswitch Product Marketing Manager, Karl Klaessing.  “Companies like Lund, Legends and Kachina Cadillac Hummer Saab that engage in a thorough product comparison find that Ipswitch ICS provides a much better combination of functionality, usability and manageability than our competitors.”
