Position Title: Inside Sales Account Manager
Department: Network Management
Location: Lexington, MA
Primary Objectives: The Inside Sales Account Manager will be responsible for identifying, qualifying and capturing new and existing opportunities for selling Ipswitch’s Network Management software products and associated services to a variety of industries. The individual will follow up on leads, conduct warm prospecting, qualify opportunities on the phone, schedule and perform web-based product demonstrations and be responsible for closing opportunities through telephone selling.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Manage a territory resulting in qualified leads and revenue generation against stated activity and revenue goals.
- Qualify sales leads generated by phone, Internet marketing, online demonstrations, seminars, trade shows, association memberships, industry and target account lists.
- Proactively develop potential sales leads through outbound calling to evaluators.
- Schedule, organize and deliver web-based product demonstrations and conference calls.
- Make minimum 50 outbound calls per day.
- Effectively utilize sales process methodology and proper questioning to identify and capture potential opportunities.
- Document and track all activity through web-based sales force automation tools including detailed activity reports, setting tasks for follow-up, lead tracking and probability statistics.
- Maintain technical knowledge and understanding of product and potential impacts of new and competing technologies.
- Prepare and send appropriate follow-up, marketing and collateral materials via mail and email to prospective clients.
- Provide marketing support at networking events, tradeshows, demonstrations and sales calls as needed.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent sales experience.
- Prefer 1 year or more of software sales experience in a call center environment.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to develop a professional rapport, overcome objections and persuade while maintaining a dynamic and professional demeanor and presence over the phone.
- Must be highly motivated, possess positive attitude and have excellent organizational skills.
- Willingness to work independently with results orientated work ethic.
- Knowledge of the computer industry with focus on the Small/Medium sized Business market.
- Knowledge of computer networking a plus
- Travel as required (10%)
