Advanced Options

When logging on to IMAP4, the service returns a welcome message that identifies the mail server version, vendor and operating system. Changing the message may help protect your server from spammer or hacker attacks. You can use the IMAP Advanced tab to change the service welcome message, if you wanted to hide the above mentioned information. To revert to the default message, clear this option.

Changing the IMAP 4 Hello Message:

Enter the text you want to be displayed in the IMAP4 service welcome message. The text is limited to 400 characters. If over 400 characters are entered, the default message is used.
